Scot McNair brings four generations of community roots and decades of local leadership to his campaign
Scot currently lives in Coldstream, is a fourth-generation resident of the North Okanagan and a 38-year veteran of the banking industry. He currently serves as a Business Analyst with Community Futures North Okanagan, supporting local business owners in Vernon, Coldstream, Lumby, Enderby, Armstrong-Spallumcheen, and surrounding communities.
He is running for a seat on the Coldstream Council in the 2026 municipal election.
McNair’s family history in the region stretches back to his great-grandparents. Though his 38-year career in banking took him to communities across British Columbia, McNair never lost his connection to the North Okanagan, and it remained the place he called home.
Wherever his career led him, McNair made a habit of getting involved. He took on leadership and executive roles with organizations including local Chambers of Commerce and Rotary clubs, driven by a conviction that strong communities depend on people willing to step up and do the work.
McNair’s career came full circle when he returned to the Okanagan for the final stop of his career in finance, joining Community Futures North Okanagan as a Business Analyst. This role provides the privilege of working directly with local entrepreneurs and business owners to grow and diversify the North Okanagan economy.
Now, McNair is bringing a lifetime of experience, dedication, and hands-on community leadership to his campaign for Coldstream Council.
“This isn’t just about politics, it’s personal,” McNair said. “This is home, and should the community choose me to serve on Council, it is a responsibility I will take very seriously.”
McNair’s candidacy reflects his long-standing commitment to community involvement, economic development, and local leadership across the North Okanagan region he has called home for four generations.
